A Rush of Blood to the Head

I am in London.

It’s really strange to be able to finally say that.  I’m not really jetlagged because I spent a few days in New York before flying out here and took an overnight flight.  However, I didn’t get any sleep at all on the way over (combination of excitement/turbulence/awesome entertainment choices courtesy of British Airways), so I AM extremely tired and have a pretty awful headache.  I wanted to try to stay up all day so I could start a normal sleeping pattern tonight, but I have that kind of deep-bones exhaustion that won’t let me stay awake much longer.  I guess I have to hope that it’s early enough in the day (11:40 AM here) and that I’m sleep-deprived enough that a couple of hours won’t make much of a difference in getting to sleep again tonight.  I have to be to my school at 10 tomorrow morning, and they’re calling for up to 10 cm of snow tonight (which is, according to my host parents, enough to shut down the country), so I have to plan on being to my bus stop by 8:15 tomorrow morning to go catch a train.  Bonus!  Also, they work on the train tracks over the weekend which often leaves things “all mixed up” on Mondays.  Double bonus!  I’m so thankful that I do have a roommate (more of a housemate, I guess, since we have separate rooms) to figure it all out with these first few days.  She should be here in a few hours so it will be nice to finally meet her.  My host parents are wonderful and already took me around to see the bus route and nearby Tube stations to sort of familiarize me with the area.  Tomorrow will be my first day in the city center, so there should be some pictures up within the next few days!

For now, naptime.
